Subject: CAC Seminar Series Details & Information

Hello Student Organization Leaders,

Do not forget that you and your organization members are invited to the Campus Activities Council Seminar Series. CAC Seminar Series is this Wednesday, October 9th from 6-7:30PM in the Associates, Regents, and Governors Rooms of the Oklahoma Memorial Union. This event will feature workshops to help student organizations grow in areas of programing, sponsorship, and publicity. Professionals from the community and student representatives will be speaking at different times during the event to share lessons they have learned from their experience in these three areas. This event is put on specifically for student organizations to help assist them in making their organizations stronger.

The workshops will last 40 minutes eachso each person may attend the two workshops they are most interested in. Please bring your organization members so they can attend workshops that you may be unable to attend.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS:

PROGRAMMING (Governors Room, OMU): Programming will be featuring organization representatives that have a track record of successful events with more than 2000 students in attendance. We will be learning about their process for planning an event.

SPONSORSHIP (Regents Room, OMU): Sponsorship will host CAC Event Vice Chairs who have had specific experience in raising money to pay for their events as well as professionals from local businesses that are often asked to sponsor events at OU. This panel of students and professionals will discuss techniques they use to approach businesses as well as how to be successful when asking for money. In addition, the sponsorship workshop will supply attendees with a list of on-campus funding resources.

PUBLICITY (Associates Room, OMU): Publicity will feature speakers for three areas: (1) social media, (2) branding, and (3) communications. This workshop will help guide your organization through the steps to appropriately and effectively publicize your organization and/or its events.

Please bring as many student representatives and students with you, we want everyone to benefit from the lessons of each workshop. Each session will also include a Q&A period where you will be able to ask the professionals and students any questions you or your organization may have. Feel free to come with questions that your organization has thought of so that you can get the most out of each workshop.

If you are planning on attending, we would love for you to "join" the event on Facebook and share the flyer. Here is the link to our Facebook event where you can both share the flyer and "join" the event: https://www.facebook.com/events/220045274829568/
