Climbing Bloom’s Pyramid to Improve ACT English Scores

Where much time in earlier grades has been devoted to remembering and understanding grammar rules, the English section of the ACT asks students to move into the upper levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy. Participants in this session will engage with lessons that move students beyond remembering and understanding of grammar rules into applying, analyzing, evaluating, and even creating with them, as well as look at numerous resources to guide further practice. Participants will also have the opportunity to share best practice ideas with one another.

Investigate Steps for ACT Writing Prep

Participants will learn 3 steps for better writing for the ACT and for ALL types of essays.  Learn ways to make ACT writing less daunting and conquerable for all students. Engage in a hands-on, step-by-step activity that will allow students to tackle and process ACT writing prompts.
