Hey,

I checked out the site, and I have some comments about it.

First, since I'm not really an active member, take my suggestions with a
grain of salt. Most of my comments have to do with the creative layout of
the site, so if you are more concerned with functionality than form, you
might just ignore me entirely.

1. Try justifying your body text. What you have going is a classic style,
similar to news-style layout, and justified text would only add to that
feel.

2. Not to be overly critical, but I think the '46' star in the title banner
should be centered between the edge of the graphic and the first 'S' in
'SSEC.'

3. Are you going for total crossbrowser compatibility? If you're not,
maybe embedded frames would be the best way to go. They are very easy to
use, and allow for absolute control of position and action. I'm not sure if
iframes are Netscape compatible.

4. If embedded frames are out of the question, how bout some multi-layered,
gif rollovers for your menu? Any 3.0 browser and up would be able to
support it.

5. Transition to a true frameset would keep your url from changing
everytime you hit a link. This is really just a petpeeve of mine.

Ok, that's it. Hope I've helped. I'll volunteer my services in this regard
if anyone's interested.

thanks,

Jeremy Flores

I decided to go ahead and send out a link to a prototype for my proposed
ssec web site.

This is a largely content free framework I built to show the layout and
sections for the page. I still haven't cleaned up the html, or done much
browser testing. Please feel free to send questions, comments, corrections,
content, or copy my way.

Also, I'm collecting stuff for an SSEC photo album. If you have digital
images you want to send my way, you can either email them to me or wait till
I get a chance to set up an ftp site to collect them. If neither of those
works for you, let me know and we'll work something out.

Finally, the link: http://www.ou.edu/student/ssec/test/ssecweb/

I'll try and post a version with actual content in the same spot this
weekend.
