Hi everybody,
Just a quick note to go over the work left to be done for the ball. If you're interested in getting involved, now is the best time (for us anyways, because we have the most work to be done now).
1st up, catering. Catering is going to be expensive for us this year for a variety of reasons. The museum has an approved list of caterers, so if anyone has connections with any of the following organizations, we would appreciate the opportunity to discuss sponsorships. I love that word.
Marriott, The Catering Company, Legend¡¯s, Gopuram A Taste of India, Tony Marbell¡¯s Cantina, Stepbrothers, End O¡¯Main, Abbey Rd. Catering, Inc., Caf¨¦ Plaid.
The tickest will be printed soon and we will begin distributing and selling them shortly.
We are offering reserved tables this year. Large groups who wish to obtain reserved seating, we are selling reserved tables for $50. These seat 8 people and the price includes the cost of the tickets. We will be marketing this option to studios and groups from OKC and beyond, but wanted to exend the option to our main constituents as well. We may have to revoke the offer on short notice depending on demand.
We need volunteers to work the ticket booth in the Union the week after thanksgiving. We will be selling tickets from 10am-2pm on Nov 29th, 30th, Dec 1st and 2nd. If you are available to sit, look cheerful, answer questions, hand out flyers and tender money during these times, please contact me with your times.
We will also need people to volunteer time away from the dance itself to operate the entry table, take tickets, look cheerful, answer quesitons etc. If you feel you can set aside a 15 minute interval from the dance to make the operation go smoother, let me know and I'll mark you down.
Set up for the ball will begin at 5pm. We need to have all of our stuff moved out of the Museum by 1am (another 2 hour window) and anyone not on the list will need to be vacated by midnight. To be involved, we need to give a list of names to the Museum for security clearance by next week. Some of you have volunteered already and I thank you. Please contact me if you are available for set up or tear down. We have nothing really elaborate planned this year, but more people is always safer.
That's all for now. Please lend a hand and I hope to see you soon.
Patrick
