Everytime it's a little bit harder to get these emails out. Look at me now, up before noon to get it done in respectable time frame. I'm not complaining, I just like you that much ;-)
The above is a roundabout way of saying I'm sorry for the late notice. Late notice for what? Well...
OmiGawd Dancing. We have a lesson tonight, 6:30 pm in the Scholars room of the Union. We'll be teaching our second little bit on Waltz, Salsa/Merengue, and Nightclub TwoStep. Intermediate instruction begins at 8pm and open dancing is after that. Of course, you're welcome to come and just do your own thing the whole time anyways (so long as you do it quietly while others are learning).
We ask that everyone pay their dues for the session this week if you haven't already. Dues are $15 for students and $20 for non-students.
This week we'll be continuing our mini-lesson with open dancing on Friday. I think there will be enough of us left in town friday night for a shindig and on spring break, everyone wants to dance. At 8pm in the Sarkey's East Atrium, you can get your dance on one last time before spring break for absolutely free.
As the above implies, we have no activities scheduled over spring break. So there will NOT be a lesson on Tuesday the 14th and there will NOT be mini-lesson + open dancing on Friday the 17th (St. Patrick's day, so dance a jig instead). Enjoy your vacation (which is always hard for me without dance).
We had a conflict arise for a future dance date. Our April 11th normal lesson has been evicted from the Union, look for an annoucement on a new venue (Probably Sarkeys) in the coming weeks. Not that any of you are looking that far ahead at your dance schedule, but you might because . . .
April 13th is our 3rd Annual Spring Ball, the Moonlit Masquerade (yes, we do wear masks. What? It's fun. You should try it.). We teach a beginning lesson at 7pm with open dancing to live music lasing from 8-11pm. This year we will be hosting in the Union Ballroom (yea!). As always, we need lots of volunteers. Reply to this email if you're interested in helping out and mention a speciality or preference for work if you have one.
That's it for this week. Viva la Dance!
Patrick
