TU Ballroom is hosting swing dance workshop on Saturday, February 25th
in the Kendall-Whittier Main Gymnasium, located at 5th and Columbia
(2601 E 5th Pl)
Jim Wright will be teaching all classes, which is lucky for us. Jim is
the former dance director for the Arthur Murray chain, and back in his
active competition days was ranked top 10 in the US in both smooth &
latin. Even better, he's just a country boy who has a way of putting
things that make dance really fun & easy to understand.
At the dance following the workshop, a local swing band called "Zoots"
will be playing. They're pretty decent, and the bass player does fun
things like play while standing on his instrument (which naturally is
painted in a flame motif).
There will be four sessions:
1:00-2:30 East Coast Swing
3:00-4:30 West Coast Swing
5:00-6:30 Swing Dips & Tricks
8:00-12:00 Dance
The cost is $5 per session or $10 for everything, and that's pretty
darn cheap. So put this on your calendar and hope to see you there!
Thanks,
Brena Meadows
