Reading and Language Arts Leaders,

I must take this opportunity to extend my spiraling
gratitude for every
morsel of assistance with the October 2005 Reading and
Language Arts
Conference. It was my first assignment in my then new
position with
the
State Department of Education, and I could not have
executed the event
without your help. Although we were not able to
provide a 2006 fall
conference, we will host summer regional conferences
June 19 - 22,
2007.
The Office of Standards and Curriculum of the State
Department of
Education is partnering with our Master Teacher
Project to offer more
professional development opportunities throughout the
state. Each
conference will feature ALL content areas. Please
share this
information
and mark your calendars. If you are interested in
presenting in a
particular region(s), stipends will be offered, and a
call for
proposals
will go out sometime in January.

State Superintendent's Regional Conferences on
Curriculum and
Instruction

Tuesday, June 19 - Northwest Region
                        - Southwest Region
Wednesday, June 20 - Tulsa Area
Thursday, June 21 - Northeast Region
                        - Southeast Region
Friday, June 22 - Oklahoma City Area

* Exact locations will be announced soon.

We look forward to seeing you this summer as Oklahoma
celebrates its
100th
Birthday!
