English:

Hello Friends of Community Media,
and Greetings from the Prometheus Radio Project!

ANNOUNCING: LPFM-IDOL.ORG!

Please read the note below to learn how YOU can expand community radio
-- and win a free trip to Washington, DC! We're offering TWO FREE
TICKETS to the nation's capital to the group that gets THE MOST CALLS
into their Senators, asking them to expand Low Power FM Radio service,
one real solution to America's consolidated media system. Care about
independent voices on America's airwaves? Sound interesting? Whether
you're an LPFM broadcaster, a person against irresponsible media
deregulation, or someone who just loves good radio, read on! Or, visit
http://www.lpfm-idol.com or
http://www.prometheusradio.org/freeairwaves.shtml to get started!

(It's been a big month for us, so you've probably been receiving a lot
of emails! If you want to be removed from our mailing lists, email
[log in to unmask] If you think this note is important,
forward it widely! Thanks!)

Now that your voices have been heard, and the Third District Court of
Appeals sent the Federal Communications Commission's attempt to
deregulate your media back to the drawing board, the time has never been
better to work for -real independent media solutions- for the United
States. We're tired of consuming bland radio coming from San Antonio,
and we're tired of Must See TV! People all across the country are
looking for other options.

As you may already know, there's a bill on the table in the Senate that
would expand the Low Power FM (LPFM) radio service to reach thousands
more people across the country. The bill is s.2505, cosponsored by John
McCain of Arizona and Patrick Leahy of Vermont, and it's generating lots
of excitement from Tacoma to Tallahassee! Read more about it at
http://www.prometheusradio.org/freeairwaves.shtml.

But the bill won't make it onto the Senate floor unless YOUR Senators
hear that YOU support LPFM. We at the Prometheus Radio Project want so
much for thousands more people to enjoy LPFM that we've sponsored a
contest! The LPFM station, or applicant, that gets the most calls into
their Senators and Representatives supporting s.2505 will win a free
trip to Washington, DC, to lobby Congress in Person!

ANNOUNCING: LOW POWER FM IDOL!

That's right -- at http://www.lpfm-idol.com, you can find all the tools
you need to turn your station into a Senator-call-generating machine. We
have:

-- banners for your website,
-- Public Service Announcements to drop into your playlist,
-- a tool to find all the contact information for your legislators,
-- suggestions of what to say to the folks on the phone,
-- and a 1-800 number you and your listeners can call to let us know how
the calls to your Senators and Representatives went!

If your group applied for an LPFM station, but didn't get one, you can
play LPFM Idol too -- just make sure your supporters name your group
when they call the 1-800 number!

Want to call your Senator and let them know you care about s.2505, but
don't want to play in the contest? That's fine, too! Visit
http://www.prometheusradio.org/freeairwaves.shtml, or
http://freepress.net/lpfm/ to get all the tools you need.

Please consider calling your Senators today, and forward this note
widely. Good luck and thanks for supporting Low Power FM radio -- one
independent, community solution for America's consolidated airwaves!

Best,
Prometheus Radio Project
