Dennis was definitely one of the good guys. His obit says something about him being the calm during the storm. That is my exact recollection of Dennis. Radio traffic, weather data, and forecasters would be swirling around the place, and Dennis was quietly taking it all in and guiding the entire team to produce the best outcome possible.
What a treat to work with that guy.

COVID-19 is not over.
For those who don't know, Dennis McCarthy was MIC at OUN back in North Base days. Even as MIC, he was always at the radio during storm events. KC5EVH (his call, before offices generally had calls) was unflappable on the radio even as violent tornadoes were chewing up OUN's CWA. He was amazing.
RIP, Dennis. :-(
