OWP fellows,

We had an AMAZING group of SI participants this June.
At least twice a
week, Karin Perry and I said, "This really is a great
group." Our
mentors, Lajuana Pierce, Lisa Stieg, and Rhonda
Slatten lead positive and productive writing groups as
well as presentation groups. All 9
participants will be showcasing their presentation
Saturday, September
22nd! I hope you can make it out to see our newest
members! (More info will follow)

2007 SI fellows: Julie Hackett, Carolyn Haddock,
Brianne Johnson,
Jonathan Wilhite, Wendi Jewell, Cynthia Boyd, Lori
Hollingsworth, Kelli
Chastain, & Nancy Davis

I would also like to announce the new mentors and
co-director for the
2008 SI. Depending on applications, we may need up to
5 mentors. A
committee selected 3 "definite" and 2 "alternate"
mentors for next summer.

Rhonda Slatten, Kelli Chastain, and Suzie Sells will
be our "definite" mentors and will be traveling to NYC
for the NWP conference to grasp better the overall
organization. Julie Hackett and Jonathan Wilhite are
our alternates--and hopefully, with persistent
recruiting from all
fellows--they will be employed next summer. The new
co-director who will serve with me is Jamie Johnson!
She has committed to the two year term and will also
co-direct in 2009.

It has been a wonderful experience for all involved.

Emily Todd
Co-Director 2007 & 2008
