Dear Colleagues/Colegas (Espaņol abajo),
Please consider taking a few minutes to send an e-mail and voice your
concern over the recent firing of Latino USA Executive Producer Maria
Martin. Martin was a founding member of Latino USA, the only National
Public Radio program focused on art, culture, politics, and social
issues involving Latinos and Latin America. She worked with the program
for about 12 years and has been dismissed because for raising grant
money, which has been interpreted as a conflict of interest.

Please write to the following people asking them to search for a
resolution of this issue in a way that will retain this key individual
who is responsible for many of the gains of Latinos in the
non-commercial radio field.
Larry Faulkner, president, University of Texas, [log in to unmask]
Stewart Vanderwilt, director and general manager, KUT-FM (he fired
Martin), [log in to unmask]

Thanks, Rob
Estimados Colegas,
