The World Summit on the Information Society: The ICT for Development
Platform

 Preparations for the World Summit on the Information Society [in Geneva]
from 10 to 12 December 2003 are rapidly advancing. The ICT for Development
event is modeled around an exciting and innovative concept. Approximately
500 organisations or companies from various sectors will have an ideal
opportunity to present diverse projects to an interesting and influential
audience with economical, political and media orientated interests. The
event will be enriched with discussions, debates and workshops. Please
access our website should you require any further detailed information:
www.ict-4d.org.

 Project submissions

 Companies and organisations will have the possibility to present projects,
which have been realised or are in the process of being realised. It is
also an ideal opportunity to broaden global networks, to find new markets
and partners.

 Each participant must fulfil the following requirements:
 - The project must stem from concerns in the information or
 communication sector. ICT includes all electronic media, technology and
facilities from radio to Information Technology programming solutions, from

 new hardware solutions to financing and initial support.
 - Projects or realised systems must be useful for developing
 countries.
 - Interested project applicants should apply in written form
 (maximum 2 sides A4) and should include the following outlines:
              *              Project objectives
              *          Project / system description
              *          Costs and benefits
              *          Project status
              *          Experiences

 Project applications should be entered before 31st May. Accepted projects
will be decided and confirmed by the end of June.

 All electronically documented projects will be subsequently placed in our
exhibitor's catalogue and be made internationally known via the Internet.
The 10 most interesting projects will receive special coverage from
worldwide press.

 The chosen projects will be responsible for their own exhibitions at Geneva

 Palexpo from the 9 to 13 December 2003.

 Participation/ Registration

 The area will be designed around a village concept with various streets and

 market places.

 It is possible to hire an area to create custom built personal stands or to

 hire regular stands. Please reserve your place as soon as possible via the
following address: www.ict-4d.org/Marketplace/en/Participants. It is also
possible to reserve a provisional area in the case of financial
uncertainty.

 Information concerning regular stands (single and shared) will be available

 from the middle of May. Exhibitors are responsible for the cost of such
stands and all necessary facilities.

 Please do not hesitate to contact the ICT4D Platform team should you have
any further enquiries.
