Let me see if I can be a little more explicit about this: GO TO THE WAREHOUSE AND GET SOME STUFF.

This warehouse was full but is now mostly empty, since its primary mission to relieve the suffering of the May 19, May 20, and May 31 tornadoes has been fulfilled. With the victims (and responders) taken care of, excess supplies were sent to homeless shelters, battered women's shelters, food pantries, churches ... pretty much any charitable organization that could be found.

And there is still stuff there. Most of it is dry groceries, canned goods, and personal care items. Saturday, I went by to drop some keys to SCARS President-for-life Bill, AE5F, and ended up with a 4-6 month supply of toilet paper ... and if I hadn't been insistent, they'd have filled my station wagon with other items.

Many of you are starving college students. A lot of this stuff will end up in a land-fill if you don't remove it from the warehouse.

So ... GO TO THE WAREHOUSE AND GET SOME STUFF.

Here is the catch: You will need to be there tomorrow, Monday, between 1 and 3 p to help break down cardboard boxes for recycling, clean up, and generally help out. And then take as much stuff as you can carry so that it doesn't go to the landfill! Just show up, ask for David Grizzle, and let him know you are a member of the OU Radio Club. That's it - easy peasy.

David Grizzle, KD5ZLG, Norman Emergency Manager Coordinator, needs
assistance clearing out non-perishable items from the relief warehouse as
described below.

If you are around TODAY (or tomorrow), please drop in at the location
below, tell Mr Grizzle you are with OUARC, and help him dispose of these
unneeded items.

As he says, this is an excellent opportunity to stock your "Go Bag".

I have been asked by the State to assist in closing out the Norman
warehouse. I have a number of agencies coming in on Sat at 12 to
select items they may want.

But we have the opportunity to make sure our GO bags are stocked with
some supplies also. Feel free to come by at 2450 John Saxon Blvd and
see if you anything there you might need for your pack.

Also, I need help in clearing the administrative areas out. If your
free please come help.

12-3 Time frame

Thanks
