GLOBAL MEDIA AND DEMOCRACY

The Department of Journalism and Media Studies at the School of
Communication, Information and Library Studies (SCILS) at Rutgers, the
State University of New Jersey, anticipates a faculty position (rank open)
for a scholar who will teach in a new SCILS-wide initiative in Global Media
and Democracy.

The department invites applications in the following areas: global 
media and journalism,  global/local cultures,  participatory 
democracy, publics/politics,  social movements (including those 
relating to immigration and environmental sustainability)  media 
diversity, media decision-making and management, information access 
and retrieval.

To apply, submit: Letter of application, CV, up to 3 representative
publications, and names of three references, preferably as an email

NEW MEDIA COLLABORATION AND INFORMATION DESIGN

The Department of Journalism and Media Studies at the School of

for a scholar who will teach in a new SCILS-wide initiative in Social 
Media Interaction and Collaborative Design.

The department invites applications from scholars whose research interests
are among the following:  technology and digital journalism, 
including issues relating to convergence, and the adaptation of news 
to the online environment; implications of technology for freedom of 
expression,  social networking (particularly as used by historically 
marginalized populations), virtual reality,  politics, online gaming 
and aesthetics, creativity and entertainment in alternative and 
traditional media.
