The next issue of GMJ/AU will focus on Globalisation and Culturalisation: Advancing Cultural Research in Sweden and Australia. This issue, edited by Dr James Arvanitakis and Prof David Rowe from the University of Western Sydney’s Institute for Culture and Society  (ICS), addresses the subject, broadly conceived, of 'globalisation'. The origin of this issue lies in a collaborative exchange between researchers in Australia and Sweden associated with ICS and the Advanced Cultural Studies Institute of Sweden (ACSIS), which is based in the Department of Culture Studies (Tema Q), Linköping University. The issue will approach the globalisation theme in wide-ranging terms, analysing various dimensions of globalism/transnationalism, culture and media, from the perspectives of cultural researchers based in Scandinavia and Australia. The issue is due to be published in June 2012.
 The final issue of GMJ/AU for 2012 will be guest edited by Diana Bossio and Saba Bebawi (Swinburne University) on the topic of The Arab Spring:  Social Media and the Politics of Reportage. GMJ/AU, in collaboration with Swinburne University’s Faculty of Life and Social Sciences, will present a symposium on this topic on Friday June 8, 2012, Melbourne Australia.
