About the name:
Sobre el nombre:

I wonder if anyone on this list already knows one of the people
involved with this other "ourmedia" project and would want to open a
discussion with them -- they are people involved with the Internet
Archive and other projects. They seem to only recently have adopted
this as a new name for their project and perhaps they might be open to
discussing how to resolve the use of the same name if we catch them
before all their letterhead and logos are printed and are able to
discuss with some awareness of shared values.

Names are here: http://www.open-media.org/about.html (I don't know
them, but know people who know them)

It seems it could be a wonderful project for this network to connect
to, if we can avoid confusion and conflict over the name.

Trademark is possible, but it would have to belong to an organization,
so some institution would "own" it or the current network would need to
incorporate a new entity. Both of those things take time and legal
expenses, even if there is a chance we would win any battle since we
have used the name since 2000.

registrada.
