Hey Robin,

Interesting question.  Although I may be mistaken, I beleive that any in-house FISH analysis would have to receive lab certification.  The lab would also need a certified cytogeneticist or molecular geneticist to call the results and bill for services.  I doubt that the labs volume would justify the in-house expenses.  Later...

Happy Monday -
I work in a hospital in the midwest that does not have a cytogenetics lab nearby.  After several recent "suprise" deliveries of babies w/T13 (suboptimal prenatal care played a role) our MFM brought up the idea of being able to do just a FISH for 13,18,21 in-house to help the NICU plan appropriate care.  He read an article about this a few years ago, but didn't have the details.  Does anyone have experience with this?
