Heartland colleagues:

When I sent this message out the first time, it was unclear if non-NSGC members could join the webinar.  I inquired (as did others), and NSGC has now opened up the webinar to all. :)  I know that there were several who contacted me with interest.  Everyone can join from their own computer.  In fact, NSGC is interested to know who else joined (other than GCs) as it may determine future webinar topics.

The NSGC Education Committee is excited to present our 2 nd webinar topic of the 2011 series. Our panel of experts will examine the newborn screening blood spot storage controversy. They will discuss the history of blood spot storage and recent legal/legislative issues surrounding storage and use, as well as the ethical aspects that have created much debate among citizens and lawmakers alike. This webinar will also address how these issues may extend beyond NBS to other types of specimen storage . Attendees will gain excellent background knowledge regarding the pending NSGC Position Statement about this issue. You will also have opportunities to ask questions!
