Hi everyone,

Thanks to the flood of calls to your senators last week, The Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) is looking like it may move forward! A tentative agreement has been reached with those that prevented it from coming to the Senate floor for a vote. GINA is one of many bills competing for limited floor time. To ensure the Senate recognizes GINA as a top tier priority we ask you to respond to this request!

Make sure that GINA does not stall by calling your senators today urging them to support GINA on the Senate floor. If you have recently called your Senate offices, pass this message along to friends and colleagues. A call script and your senators' contact information can be found here: http://www.nsgc.org/client_files/consumer/GINA_Action_4-15-08.doc.

It is important that we continue to push. Even though your senators may already be cosponsors of the bill, nothing can happen until they bring GINA to the Senate floor.

Together we have carried GINA this far, now's the time to get it passed!

Regards,

Diane Baker and Barbara Harrison

NSGC Public Policy Committee Co-Chairs
