Hi, everyone,
I am so sorry that I had to say I could not help out at the Weather Festival on Nov. 7. Life has become a little awkward in terms of my ability to make commitments for the next few months, and the awkwardness extends to the reason why and how easy that is (not) to share.
I did tell Zac this prior to the meeting tonight, but as he may feel that he shouldn't share the info, I will go ahead and tell you all--I will be having surgery to remove a tumor on Friday, November 6--I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I am pretty sure I won't feel like doing much of anything on November 7, though I hate to miss the Weather Festival. I know I'll be able to make the meeting on Nov. 21, but at some point after that, I'll be starting chemotherapy, and I have no idea what I'll be able to do when after that. I've been told to expect good days and bad days, with the latter especially after a treatment. So life is bringing me new adventures and opportunities to learn new things.
I have marked my calendar for Dec 5, too, and hope I'll be able to help then.
