The National Writing Project welcomes eleven new sites
into its network
this year. The new sites are located in Illinois (3),
Maryland,
Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico,
Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin.

APPLY NOW FOR PROFESSIONAL WRITING RETREAT
Spend June 1922 at Sunrise Springs Inn and Retreat in
Santa Fe, New
Mexico, writing about your practice or about the
educational contexts
in which writing occurs. The retreat is limited to 28
participants and
is organized in two strands to accommodate writers at
varying levels of

NWP Directors Retreat, July 30August 3, at Rock

Lodge, Montana. The retreat is designed to support
directors and site
leaders as they share their expertise and plan for

WORK OF ELL NETWORK TO BE FEATURED AT TESOL CONVENTION
Join the NWP ELL Network at the 2008 TESOL Convention
in New York City.
At a Preconvention Institute on April 1, writing
project
teacher-leaders will share strategies to support ELL
students' literacy development
through digital storytelling, wikis, Google Docs,
podcasts, and blogs.
