Texas A & M Institute of Naval Archeology

Thursday, March 24, 2005 6:30 p.m. for a program on the

"RED RIVER WRECK"

OHS Auditorium

        Wiley Post Historical Building In the State Capitol Complex

Dr. Crisman will present one of Oklahoma's most significant historical
finds, the riverboat Heroine, covered by sand for a century and a half.

For two years now archeologists and historians have been pulling up
relics from the wrecked boat located in the Red River, near Fort Towson
in Southern Oklahoma.  Dr. Crisman will bring over 100 artifacts from
the dig for this educational program.

Glenn Grieco, professional ship modeler and colleague of Dr. Crisman in
the Nautical Archaeology Program at Texas A&M University will present
his model drawings of the ship.

An evening program will also be presented in the OHS Auditorium
beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24.
