I downloaded the full description (see attached) and the think the amounts
are the maximums per award.  Also, note that a major evaluation focus is
military relevance, which includes military families.

Fiscal Year 2006 Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP) Call For
Proposals

The United States Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC),
Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP)
invites applications for funding for the PRMRP. Five different funding
mechanisms that provide support for military health-related research are
available. Those mechanisms include: Investigator-Initiated Award, New
Program Project Award, Existing Program Project Award,  Advanced
Technology: Product/Technology Down-Selection or Optimization Award, and
Advanced Technology: Clinical Testing/Trials (Human Subjects) Award.

Proposals must address one of the following topic areas: Advanced Proteomics,
Alcoholism Research, Autism, Autoimmune Diseases (such as Scleroderma and
Sjogren's Syndrome), Blood-Related Cancer Research (such as Leukemia,
Lymphoma, and Multiple Myeloma), Childhood Asthma, Chronic Pain and Fatigue
Research, Childhood Cancer Research, Diabetes Research, Duchenne's Disease
Research, Eye and Vision Research, Fibromyalgia, Interstitial Cystitis
Syndrome, Kidney Cancer Research, Lupus Research, Osteoporosis and
Bone-Related Diseases, Polycystic Kidney Disease, Pulmonary Hypertension,
Paget's Disease, Post traumatic Stress Disorders, Social Work Research, and
Military Relevant Disease Management [with special emphasis on Antibiotic
Resistance; Neurotoxicity of Mefloquine;  Rehabilitation (Face and/or Eye
Injury); Respiratory Infection Including Associated Respiratory Disease; Drug
Abuse; Efficacy and Subsequent Clinical Guidelines for the Use of Probenecid
or Other Drugs to Decrease Dosage Requirements of Oseltamivi r Phosphate for
the Treatment of Influenza; Human Performance Optimization;
Radio-Protectants; and  Mental Health Resiliency].

The PRMRP expects to fund 33 Investigator -Initiated Research Awards at
$625,000 direct costs,   2 New Program Project Awards at $1.25M direct
costs , 2 Existing program Project Awards at $1,25M, 3 Advanced
Technology: Product/Technology Down Selection or Optimization at $940,000
direct costs, 2 Advanced technology: Clinical testing/Trials at $2.5M direct
costs.  All mechanism can request applicable indirect costs in addition to
direct cost amounts.

information and forms needed for successful proposal submission are included
within this document.
Electronic submission is required.  Proposals will be accepted only as PDF
files submitted through the CDMRP eReceipt system at https://cdmrp.org. A
link to the document can also be found at the CDMRP website

No paper copy submissions will be accepted.  The CDMRP uses a two -tier
review process for proposals:  Scientific peer review, followed by
programmatic review.  Details of both tiers of review can be found in the
Full Text of the Announcement at .  Timelines for the FY06 PRMRP proposals
are as follows:  Letter of Intent are expected by April 10, 2006, Full
Proposal Submission Deadline: May 9, 2006, 5:00 p.m. Easter Time; Peer
Review: July 2006, Programmatic review: September 2006; Award start date:
