Iowa likes SAS, and finds it useful. Our epidemiologists also use SPSS,
I believe, but prefer SAS. 
What genetics information are you referring to, specifically?

Missouri has a web-based data system for  newborn hearing data and the
newborn screening and vital records information is integrated to the
web-based system.  It is HIPAA compliant.  However, we can only manage
our newborn hearing clients at this time through the web-based system,
but not very well with the blood spot.  We are currently working on
improving that.  The SAS that is used is for all analysis that the
department does and not specific to genetics.  The web-based system has
it's own reports that it generates through crystal reports.

Thank you everyone for your input. Most everyone has SAS. Does it meet 
the needs? Are you satisfied with it? I'm just trying to evaluate what 
we have and see what is being used out there and what is most effective.

Are the genetics data linked to the state health dept in other states? 
ND does not have the linkage, nor is the genetics department a part of 
the Health or Human Services Department. So the next question to ask 
then, should we be linking that data in the future, and what about
