We got a lot of information on costs, etc from Donna Regan, Manager, at the
St. Louis public cord blood bank 314-268-2787. Sounds like you might want
to send out an RFP to get a public bank to bid on the project. There are a
couple of private banks that also handle some donations. Maybe these would
also bid.

Are there any State Health Departments involved in the
oversight and/or administration of a Public Cord Blood Bank? Oklahoma
currently has legislation being considered to "pass" money through the
health department to the Oklahoma Blood Institute to set up a public cord
blood bank.

I would like to talk with any Health Department staff that
have been involved in the establishment and/or administration of a public
cord blood bank.

             Thanks.
