yea, got it from techdepot on a quote for $5199. I don't know if that price
is still good, but I would suspect so. Jerry Bowers ( [log in to unmask]
) is our contact guy there. CDW was about $200 more.

I saw that TechDepot had an autoloader on sale for around $9000, but it
wouldn't hold the high capactiy tapes and it was terribly slow on transfer
rates, but if both carraiges were full, it would do (I think) 3.2TB total
compressed. I picked the SDLT 600 for speed more than anything (72MB/sec so
it says heh) and is fibre channel ready. That and the SDLT's are super easy
to use. Dell makes some really nice ones they use across the street, but I
don't know how *nix friendly they are.

Looking more at the hardware side. I take it that SDLT is 300G
uncompressed?
