Subject: Student Intern Opportunity - Georgia Tech Data Science for Social Good

When Srinivas Aluru visited campus last September, he mentioned a program at Georgia Tech that blends data science and technology design. The Atlanta Data Science for Social Good (DSSG) program is an intensive, ten-week paid internship experience. Students are placed on multi-disciplinary teams and matched with a supervising professor to address real-world problems for our partners in the City of Atlanta and local non-profit organizations. Additional mentorship will be provided by domain experts from partnering organizations and from the local data science and civic innovation community.

Several faculty expressed interest in the program as an opportunity for your own students. There was also some interest in possibly studying the program as something that might be replicated in Oklahoma. Srinivas recalled our interest, and sent the following email to invite applications from OU students. The extended deadline is March 1.
