Subject: University of Wisconsin-Madison Bridge to the Doctorate (Pending NSF Approval)

If you are thinking about graduate school in Wisconsin, WOW, this opportunity is for you!

Greetings LSAMP Community!

Please accept this reminder of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Bridge to the Doctorate (WiscAMP-BD) opportunity for Fall 2015 (pending funding). We have received some strong applicants, and we are looking for more. The WiscAMP-BD program will provide generous support for LSAMP-eligible students who have completed their STEM bachelor degrees at an LSAMP institution within the last 2 years. All 4-year campuses for institutions in WiscAMP qualify as LSAMP institutions.

WiscAMP-BD students will be part of a diverse community of graduate research scholars in STEM, receive individualized faculty mentoring, and have access to ongoing academic and career development resources.

In order to apply for the award, students must first be accepted into a graduate program in STEM at UW-Madison and complete the attached application form. The graduate school deadline for application varies according to department and program. Please encourage your LSAMP-eligible students who will be ready to begin their graduate school studies in fall 2015 to apply now to ensure timely consideration and admission into the graduate program of their choice.

There are over 50 STEM graduate programs at UW-Madison that students can apply to and qualify for WiscAMP-BD support. If students have questions about which program(s) they should apply to, please encourage them to contact the Kelly Burton ([log in to unmask]) with questions about physical and engineering disciplines and Abbey Thompson
([log in to unmask]) with questions about biological and natural science disciplines.

Thank you for your support for LSAMP and WiscAMP!

Sincerely,
Gail Coover
