The annual ARRL Field Day exercise and operating event has been held
on the "4th full weekend" of June since 1933. In 2016, that means
this coming weekend, June 25 and 26 OUARC should visit and operate at
SCARS' Field Day site at Reaves Park in Norman.

Club members will operate for 24 hours starting at 1800 UTC Saturday
(1 pm local time). Setup will begin around 8 am local time with a
meal planned around the dinner hour.

We will have a "Get On The Air" station specifically for those of you
who are newly licensed, a station specifically **set up and operated**
by new hams with the help of Gary, WB5ULK, the GOTA Coach.

More information about Field Day can be found here:
http://www.arrl.org/field-day

The ARRL site also has a Field Day Station Locator for those of you
who aren't near Norman - there will be sites all over Oklahoma and the
USA. For directions to the SCARS site, see http://w5nor.org/ .

At the end of July, CORA, the Central Oklahoma Radio Amateurs holds
Ham Holiday, one of the largest hamfests in the state. There will be
forums on various topics, an exam session, a ham radio flea market,
and a banquet with ARRL Product Review Engineer, Bob Allison, WB1GCM,
giving the keynote address. See http://hamholiday.org/ for all the
details.

We should plan on selling some of our surplus gear at the hamfest!
