Dear Colleagues,

The 2005 NCTE Annual Convention is fast-approaching.  On November 18 from
2:30-3:45 the Conference on English Education commissions will meet in the
Westin, Westmoreland West Room, Second Level.  The Commission on the
Teaching of Poetry invites NCTE members who are interested in poetry
teaching at whatever level to get in on the ground floor of our
re-organizational meeting.  Agenda is subject to input of participant group.
Possible items may include, but are not limited to:

•       Priorities, Mission Statement
•       Nature of 2006 NCTE workshop/session (s)
•       Possible publications
•       School-college membership-building strategies

If you are interested in becoming a member of this high-energy commission,
please contact Bonner Slayton [log in to unmask] or Danny Wade
[log in to unmask]  Certainly feel free to respond to any of the possible
agenda items, to suggest your own, and to encourage others to join you at
the session. We look forward to hearing from you.
