NWP NOT INCLUDED IN WHITE HOUSE BUDGET REQUEST ––
The Bush Administration has released its fiscal year
2006 budget request and, as in years past, the White
House did not recommend funding for a number of small
education programs, including NWP. This does not mean
NWP will lose its federal funding next fiscal
year-—our program has
been left out of the Administration budget in previous
years and has always maintained funding thanks to
strong bipartisan support in Congress. It does,
however, underscore the need to continue educating our
elected officials about the impact NWP sites have on
teachers and students around the country. Read NWP’s
February 14 press release about the Bush budget.
