Hello All,

If you have ever wanted to read the AP Literature exam, now's your chance.
Apparently we do not have enough readers for this June. Many people have
"hung out" on a waiting list foor years before they got a chance to read.
It's a week in Daytona Beach, Florida, all expenses paid, plus approximately
$1500 and a chance to meet impressive colleagues from all over the world.
The actual grading period is from Thursday, June 1, to Friday, June 9. Your
airfare will be paid by ETS up front and you'll stay in the Hilton, right on
the beach.

You must, however, have experience teaching at the college level or in the
AP Literature course. The specific requirements are below, followed by a
plea from ETS.

College-Level Faculty --
AP Readers from colleges and universities must be active faculty members and
have taught at least one semester of a comparable AP course ‹ as described
in the AP Course Description ‹ within the past three years.

High School Teachers --
AP Readers from secondary schools must currently teach the AP course in a
face-to-face classroom setting and have at least three years' experience
teaching it ‹ unless
€ the AP course is new ‹ then teachers must demonstrate comparable expertise
and teaching experience
€ it's an online AP course taught in a virtual classroom ‹ then teachers
must have at least three years' experience in teaching the course in a
face-to-face classroom setting.

Please pass this on to other interested qualified teachers. Feel free to
email me directly if you have questions, or just give me a call (378-6832).
Hope to see some of you on the beach!

Dear AP Readers:

Thank you for accepting the invitation to serve at this year's AP
Reading. We look forward to a successful Reading. However, with the
increased exam volume in your AP subject coupled with a high percentage
of Readers who were unable to accept the invitation to this year's AP
Reading, we are at risk of not having enough Readers. I'm writing to ask
for your help to recruit additional Readers in your discipline. Perhaps
you know of a colleague or have a friend who meets the AP Reader
qualifications. If so, please ask them to apply now at
    http://www.ets.org/reader/ap.

Applications will be immediately reviewed and
upon approval, the applicant will receive an invitation to this year's
Reading (until all positions are filled). Approved applicants will
remain on the list of Readers for consideration to future Readings as
well.

On behalf of the AP Program and the students it serves, we appreciate
your help.

Thank you.
