Hidely-ho dancerinos!

So we're up in full swing this week, back to dancing two nights a week. We've got lessons on Tuesday nights and Social Dancing on Friday nights.

Who: The Sooner Ballroom Dance Club and You!
What: Beginning and Intermediate dance lessons.
When: Beginning at 6:30pm and Intermediate at 9pm, Tuesday, August 28th.
Where: Scholars Room, Oklahoma Student Union, 3rd floor between the ballroom and the parking garage.
Why: To HAVE FUN! (why else?)

We kick off the first session teaching Swing, FoxTrot and Rumba. The scholars room is carpeted, so bring something to dance in besides sneakers or flipflops. Soft felt or leather soled shoes if you have em work great. Heavy socks stand in quite well. There are no requirements other than showing up and having fun. You don't even have to pay dues if those two don't satisfy. Dues for five weeks are $15 for students, $20 for non. If you don't know how to dance, we'll teach you. If you don't have a partner, some lonely person of the opposite sex doesn't either. Seriously, everyone dances with everyone else and we all learn and have fun. (I always wanted to be on PBS. Mr. Rogers, anyone?)

Friday nights are the big fun, tho. Starting at 8pm, under the Geology Library in the Sarkeys Energy Center, we'll be teaching and dancing until we collapse or they kick us out. A mini-lesson will be taught over the basics of something so none will be left out. We'll have open stereo, so bring your favorite tunes to dance to.

That's all I've got to start with. More events, venues and dances will ante up as the semester starts rolling, so get ready to dance.
