Friends, countrymen, romans, lend me your ears!

Tomorrow night, beginning at 6:30, is our first lesson of Waltz, Salsa/Merengue, and Nightclub Two-Step. If it's your first time out, it doesn't hurt to show up a little early. The Right Honorable Henry Neeman will be out of town so beginning instruction will be handled by yours truely. To clarify for some of our new members, we are in the Scholars Room of the Oklahoma Memorial Union, 1600 Asp Ave. If one were to park in the garage (which would cost $2-$4, I don't know because I never do it) simply enter from the North and proceed to the 3rd floor. The Scholars room is through the double doors and on the right. Floor plans of the Union can be found here: http://www.union.ou.edu/floorplan/index.html

The cost for these lessons, all five weeks combined, is a mere $15 for students, $20 for non. There is no partner or experience required and the only dress recomendation is a soft soled shoe; something with suede, felt, soft or hard leather usually works best. If all you have is tenis shoes or anything with thick rubber treads, you're probably better off bringing extra thick socks and dancing in those.

Intermediate lessons that evening will proceed as planned with material on Samba, West-Coast or East-Coast swing and maybe something new (just a guess). Remember, paying dues once covers both beginning and intermediate lessons.

Apart from that, there is a group of OU students already planning on polka dancing this Saturday. It has been suggested that the Club come out for this event as well. So, this Saturday at 8pm, plan on being at the Czech Hall in Yukon, west of Oklahoma City. It's really a lot of fun and you don't know what you're missing if you haven't been. If you need a ride, I might suggest meeting at the Jukebox in the Union Food Court, first floor, before 7pm to make it out. Carpoolers: Someone with a car and space please plan on showing up so 3 people with no car get stuck. I and various others already have a previous engagement, but should be out polkaing it up by 8:30.

Directions briefly are: North on I-35 to I-40.
West on I-40 to exit 138, which actually gets you on Reno Avenue, but is labled Czech Hall Road.
Turn left, south, on Czech Hall road.
1/2 mile later, it'll be on your right.

As always, email me with any question.
See you soon!
Patrick
