Thanks Joe,

Kate also talked to Amin and I about scheduling one Saturday night a session for a OU Dance Club Lesson and Party. She said they would be willing to use the party exclusive for SBDC and LDC members. She would be willing to teach an advanced lesson before the party.

The Graduate Fair yesterday went Great! we did a lot of dancing and got some great attention. Hopefully Sunday's fair will go even better!!
I am hoping to have an officer meeting after the Fair on Sunday to discuss the turbulence we are having with the advanced lessons, getting Hallie and Sarah started, and talk about who is teaching what. Please let me know if you are able to come on Sunday.

Thanks everyone!

Subject: No more advanced classes

Hello all,

I wanted to get the ball rolling on some discussions about the advanced
classes.

Background:

Last night Nadia, Casey and I talked to Kate to see if she or one of her
instructors would be interested in continuing to teach an advanced
lesson. Kate said that she and her instructors were too busy to teach a
lesson and that it's more like a 2 hour time commitment to teach the 1
hour lesson. She did go on to say that she really enjoys working with
SBDC and wanted to find a way that we could bring the club out to her
studio for a group class for a discount in price (she was thinking
either Monday or Thursday nights, I think).

My thoughts:

-I think we need to remove advertising for the advanced lesson unless we
come up with another option.
-I don't think negotiating a discount price for our students to come to
lessons on a different night is a practical alternative to an advanced
lesson.
-If we decide to do group lessons at Shall We Dance for another night
and sell that as our 'advanced' lesson, I think we should try to
negotiate having the club pay for it from the dues we collect.
-If traveling and the inconvenience of being away from the studio is an
issue maybe we could negotiate to compensate for travel (i.e. instead of
$50 pay $75)
-I know it probably isn't practical, but we could try to book shall we
dance for an advanced lesson on Tuesday night, and those that want to
attend can carpool over after the intermediate lesson.
-Lastly, does anyone know of another option for possibly having someone
do an advanced lesson?

Sorry for the length of the email, what are others thoughts?

Joe
