Upfront apology: Sorry I'm running late this week. I drank an inhuman amount of caffiene last night and did a weekends worth of homework instead of writing the email.

Now that that's out of the way, how is everyone doing?
I hope all of you will join us for the new ballroom session tomorrow evening starting at 6:30 in the West Atrium of the Sarkeys Energy Center. We will be studying Waltz, Salsa/Merrengue and Nightclub Two-Step under the tutelage of guest instructor Jeffrey Rhea. The cost again is $15 for students, $20 for non-students and that will pay for lessons all the way through the 2nd of November.

It would help if some of you planned to arrive early both to ease the sign in process and help rearrange the extensive tables and chairs that are in the Atrium. Also, the floor in there is, I believe, a smooth tile, so tennis shoes will probably work although anything with a soft sole is preferred.

For parking, there are various spots around the Energy Center that should be available. Barring that, just park where you normally would for lessons in the Union and walk.

To find the West Atrium, it is on the 1st floor (2 floors below ground level, interestingly enough) by the Bedrock Cafe. If one were to take the lower entrance off of Jenkins (down the stairs instead of up the ramp), one would proceed towards the center of the tower structure, through the glass memorial enclosure that's covered in plaques and down the open set of stairs, one would only need to turn a corner to arrive. More simply put, it's directly under the large skylight between the tower and Jenkins. Of course, you will probably be able to follow the music from anywhere on the first or second floors.

Also, the following dance opportunity was related to me through John by one of the studios that participated in the Oklahoma challenge.

HUSTLE WORKSHOPS COMING SOON!

WITH

Mike Mason &
Beth Emerson

Sunday, October 10th:

1:00-2:30 PM: Intro to Hustle
3:00-4:30 PM: Hot Moves

Workshops will be $5 each and will be held at Harpe's Dance. (405)787-6230

That's one week from yesterday. Anyone interested in gaining experience, getting ahead of the club to show off come December (when we learn the hustle), or is generally fascinated by the 1970's is encouraged to attend. On the downside, I imagine some of you will still be in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for the most infamous of football games.

I think that's all for now, but i could easily be mistaken. See you soon!
Patrick
