Just a pair of items before the weekend:
There will be an evening of ballroom dancing on Friday, April 15, at the Untitled ArtSpace, 1 NE 3rd, Oklahoma City, 7:00-10:00PM.
The evening will include: An exhibition of ballroom dancing by professional and amateur dancers. An introductory lesson for everyone General dancing Host will be John Swick, National Ballroom Champion, Coach, and Judge. Singles and couples are welcome
For more information contact Horst Severini (the club advisor, yowza) who will be dancing in the demonstration that evening. Note that this event is completely free. I called and reserved space for 10 club members and several others have smaller groups already arranged. There will be carpooling. Meet at 6pm in the Union Foodcourt by the Jukebox on Friday if you would like to carpool or, like me, simply bum a ride (I have no car).
On Saturday, we will be meeting to work on decorations for the ball starting at 1pm at distinguished member Ryan Vazquez's house. Pizza and cokes will be provided for lunch.
Here are some directions: From Campus-
Go East on Boyd until you reach 12th East (also called Sooner Road) Turn Left onto 12th (go North) Turn Right onto Northern Hills Rd. (there's a brick wall with Northern Hills on it) Go straight until you see house number: 2725 Northern Hills Road on the left
Notes: Northern Hills is soon after Rock Creek. Ryan's house is between a black and white house and a house with a red garage door.
And if anyone gets lost, Ryan's cell is 405.323.8557. Or you can call me at 812.391.3225. Rides can also be arranged for anyone around town. With a couple people volunteering, we should be able to wrap this up in about 3 hours.
Thats all for now. If I don't see you on the weekend, there are plenty of events and dancing opportunities next week. Not the least of these is our 2nd annual Moonlit Masquerade on Wednesday. More info will be included in the lesson reminder email nominally sent out on Sunday some time.
