Howdy crew,

Another dance lesson for you this week, fourth in the series covering ChaCha, Tango and Hustle. We will be in the Scholars Room again this week, 3rd floor of the Union on the North end, between the Ballroom and the parking garage. This is a carpeted room, so plan accordingly. Beginning class begins at 6:30 and Intermediate at 8pm. Remember you only need pay dues once to be eligible for either or both of these lessons.

We will try to arrange for open dancing to take place again on Friday evening, from 8-11pm in the Sarkeys East Atrium, so watch for another email about that.

The Ballroom has already been reserved and plans set in motion for the Winter and Spring Balls for next year, to be held on December 8th and April 20th, respectively (both Thursdays). Mark your calendars now, I guess.

Officer elections will be held very soon. Please contact me if you are interested in running for a position (especially you current officers). Positions are as follows:

President: My job. Mostly organizing, notifying and coordinating things. More paper work than you'd imagine.

Vice-President: Primarily in charge of planning the Balls, including instructor, band, food and decor. Currently Jenaya Rholfing.

Secretary: Primary goto person. Nominally handling all the notary type stuff but in actuality just helping out wherever it's needed. Currentyl Erin Abreu.

Treasurer: Making a weekly trip to the bank and completing the UOSA budget application in the fall. Currently Andrew Cohoon.

I'd also like to add two other positions as follows:

Historian: Take a bunch of pictures and ensure that the good ones wind up in the scrap book and on the website.

Publicity Chair: Coordinate all the printing, hanging and handing out of flyers, placing of advertisements, etc.

Our last meeting of the semester is scheduled for May 3rd, in two weeks, so elections will have to be held then. We will also need someone to coordinate beginning dance lessons sessions for the summer, preferable someone who will be in Norman for the summer, but not necesarrily an officer.
