Shucks Howdy,

I hope everyone had a good time last week and is ready for some more dance. Those of you that missed, don't be scared, you can still pick it up. At any rate, there's plenty more dancing in store.

We need men! If you know any guys who love to dance, have too much spare time, or are perhaps just desparate to meet chicks, please drag them (kicking and screaming if need be: they'll thank you afterward) to our club.

Break it down:

    Who: SBDC
What: Swing, Fox-Trot, and Rhumba second lesson
    When: Tuesday, September 7th, 6:30-8pm
    Where: Cate Center Lounge
hoookay, this is a little hard to find. Cate is a residence hall collectively called the quads. The center lounge is in the Cate Main building between Lindsey and First Street. If you go on that little oval drive off of Asp Ave. (Cate Court Drive), it's right in the middle with all the foodservice inside it. In fact, you can sometimes see the Taco Mayo sign on the side of the building from Lindsey St., but that's a poor landmark, so moving on. The X-Shaped building with the clock tower on it there is the Honors College; don't be fooled! They have a nice lounge, but we can't dance there. If you can see that clock tower, then you're less than 100 feet from your destination. It's just west of that building. If none of this makes sense to you, just turn to http://www.ou.edu/admrec/1pgmap.pdf and look for building number 82 kinda in the middle of the first page.
The lounge is the big room with the windows and the blinds. There is a pool table, a bigscreen tv, and a bunch of couches, chairs and tables, none of which help us.
So, I'm asking for a few brave volunteers to come early, say about 6:15 and help rearrange the furniture and a few others to stay behind afterward and put it all back.

How Much: $15 for students, $20 for non-students for 1 session which consists of 5 weeks
Most of you have already paid, thank you so much. For those of you who haven't, we're not real good at keeping track of it, so please be honest. At any rate, if last week was your free sample and you enjoyed it, we kindly ask that you pay the for the session by the second lesson. If you're still not sure or have a kooRAZy schedule (who doesn't, eh?), you can hold back and pay one night at a time.
Suggestions: Wear shoes that do not have tread and do not have rubber soles. Flip-Flops or shoes without backs may trip you up a little also. If you don't have footwear that fits this bill, socks actually work very nicely on carpet.

NO PARTNER OR EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! That's right, this is a strictly social setting where everyone can and will have fun.

FREE FOOD!! (how? keep reading)

One final note, Publicity Week is just a week away. Next Tuesday and Wednesday from 10-2, nearly every student organization on campus will have representatives on the South Oval recruiting people. This is a great opportunity to get more people involved and dancing (heck, it's how I first found out about SBDC). Set up starts at 9, but we need two people to man our booth at all times from 10am - 2pm. We will have sign up sheets and contact info at this tuesdays meeting/lesson for those of you interested or get bored around midday anyways. FREE FOOD!! for all volunteers will be generously provided by the Campus Activities Council who run this gig.
