Arrr me mateys!

I hope everyone is as excited to begin a new semester as I am. Don't get me wrong, class is ugh. But dancing is fun. Starting next week we will resume regular lessons. Here's the plan.
Who: Sooner Ballroom Dance Club and you
What: Beginning dance lessons in Swing, Rumba and Fox-Trot
When: Tuesday Nights at 6:30pm
Where (a bit more complicated here, so pay attention):
January 25th - Sarkeys Energy Center East Atrium
Febuary 1st - Student Union Scholars Room, 3rd floor
Febuary 8th - Sarkeys Energy Center East Atrium
Febuary 15th - Sarkeys Energy Center East Atrium
Febuary 22nd - Student Union Scholars Room, 3rd floor
directions to these locations to follow
Why: To have fun!
The cost is $15 for students and $20 for non, covering a full 5 week session for either.

Suggestions: Soft soled shoes are important, especially in the Scholars room which is carpeted. Flip-flops are a very bad idea because they come off easily and provide zero support. If you don't own shoes that fit these criteria, just bring a pair of socks to dance in, it works just fine. Dress is casual come-as-you-are. You need neither a specific partner nor any prior experience. The objective is to enjoy yourself.

If everything goes according to plan, we will be having regular, professionally instructed intermediate lessons following the beginning section. First up (should be) Tango, Cha-Cha and Hustle. In general, if you have attended the previous session or know the previous sessions dances well, you are welcome at the Intermediate lesson. The membership fee covers both beginning and intermediate lessons, so don't be shy.

Tonight we will be meeting to distribute and hang flyers across campus. At 7pm, come to the food court in the Union and meet me by the Jukebox if you can volunteer time for this effort. The more people who come the easier it will be on everyone.

Directions: The East Atrium in Sarkeys is underneath the geology library. It is on the 1st floor. If you enter from Jenkins avenue, proceed down the stairs and past the Bedrock Cafe and it's open seating area (which is the west Atrium) down the either left or right hall and you will literally run into the East Atrium.

The Scholars room is on the North end of the Union building between the ballroom and the Parking Garage. More detailed directions will follow next week.

We are having an officers meeting on Thursday at 8pm on the 2nd floor of the Conoco Student leadership Wing of the Union. Our cubicle is 2C. Everyone is welcome and anyone intrested in becoming more involved, including becoming an officer of the club for next year, is encoraged to attend.

Thanks, I hope you had a nice break and I'll see you soon!
Patrick Macklin,
President
