Hey all you crazy dancers, this is an important announcement concerning the most exciting dance opportunity on campus this semester.

What happened was we reserved the Ballroom for the Winter Ball during dead week. This is pretty solidly a bad idea and (if we put the usual amount of decoration/preparation hours into it) against the student code. So we changed it.

Right now, we have the Ballroom reserved for Wednesday, November 30th. This would entail the usual happenings that many of you have come to know and love.

We want to move it to Saturday, December the 3rd. We've been trying to involve ourselves more with the dancing comunity. We would be able to invite more Oklahoma City and Norman dancers by having it on a Saturday (most studios and people hold lessons on wednesday nights). We have the Sam Noble Museum on hold for this date. The space is on the whole bigger. We would be able to seat roughly the same number of people and have a somewhat larger dance floor. Also, the Ancient Fossil Collection can be open for 1 hour so you would have something to do if you wanted to skip the lesson.

As usual, we would have a beginner lesson from 7-8pm and Dancing with live music from 8-11pm. There will be food and drink catered to the event. This applies to both the saturday and wednesday dates.

On the down side, the space is more expensive and the decorations and catering policies are more strict. We would only have 2 hours to set up before the lesson began. We would have to look at raising ticket prices by $1 or $2 per. We would also have to have the place cleared out by midnight.

So please offer your feedback on this trade off. If there is some event that conflicts, please let me know.
Thanks,
Patrick Macklin
