That's a pretty pressumptious subject line if I do say so myself. But moving right a long...

Our most pressing order of business this week is volunteers for publicity week. This Tuesday and Wednesday, th 14th and 15th respectably, is the Campus Club Craze information fair, to be held on the South Oval from 10am - 2pm each day. We need 1 more volunteer for Tuesday from 10 to 11am, 2 volunteers for Weds from 10-11 and from 11-12 and then one volunteer for Wed from 12-1 and 1-2. If you can work one or more of these times, or even less than one, please let me know so I can plan on attending class. Set up and tear down is taken care of both days and all volunteers get free food. All you have to do is sit there, tell people how excited you are about ballroom dance and give them a handout and a frozen treat. How much easier can it be? Not much, let me tell you....

Almost immediately after that will be our 3rd Swing, Fox-Trot and Rhumba lesson. We'll be back in the Scholars room on the evening of the 14th from 6:30-9pm. For those of you that didn't make it to the first lesson, that's on the 3rd floor on the North between the Ballroom and the Parking garage. We could also use a few more men, but all are still welcome to join in.

Next up, there are several events coming up.

We will meet at the juke box on Thursday, Sept. 16 at 8:30 pm.
We will car pool to Mango¢s (a 21 and over salsa club located in OKC Brick Town).
The cover is $3, sometimes girls get in free before 11.
Anyone who wants to go or has questions should call Louise on her cell (405) 209-6342 or email at [log in to unmask]

Also this Thursday is another Meet Me at the Mammoth dance in the Sam Noble Museum on Thursday, September 16, 2004 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and another on Saturday, September 25, 2004 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. The ticket price is $5, but students have gotten in free in the past. I think that will still be the case, but I'm getting this information 3rd hand...

The same Jazz group will be playing Pepe Delgado's on Friday, October 1, 2004 from 9:30 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. There is a cover charge; I think about $5.00 and one needs to be 21. This establishment would love to have swing dancers show up, from what I hear, so go check it out if you fit the criterion (stupid liqour laws....).

There is a Ballroom Dance Competition in Oklahoma City on the 24th and 25th of this month. Some members of our club, my humble self included, will be dancing here, so come cheer us on. The ticket price is something like $25, but that's well worth it if you stick around for the something like 8 hours of dancing they have planned for each day. If you want more email on this, try http://dancemakers.net/ok_challenge.htm

Horst, could you go ahead and add all of this to the website? I've had some requests to keep a calendar of dance events, so whatever you can work out (even cut and paste) would be great.

Delanie, is it possible to get the rest of those IcyPops frozen before Publicity Week? That'd be a good venue to get rid of em, even though I don't have a clue how we'd transport them.

Also, don't forget there is an Officer's Meeting tomorrow at noon in the Conoco Student Leadership wing of the Union. Anyone who wants to get more involved is welcome.

Thanks and sorry once again about the length.
I didn't know i had that much in me....
Patrick
