Crazy weeked, eh chaps?

Well, comin up on Tuesday we have a brand new session of dances for you. We will be teaching the Waltz, Salsa/Merengue and Nightclub TwoStep over the course of the next five Tuesdays, starting on October the 4th. We are diversifying our instructor portfolio, so it promises to be something new and fun even for people who've done it all before. Here's the scoop of just the pertinent poop:

Who: Sooner Ballroom Dance Club and You!
What: First Lesson of Waltz, Salsa/Merengue and Nightclub TwoStep
When: Tuesday Oct 4th 6:30 pm
Where: Scholars Room, Student Union Building 3rd floor
Why: Meet new people, learn new things, have fun! Why else?

The standard warnings apply: Our room is between the ballroom and the parking garage, on the third floor of the union. It is carpeted, so be cautious! Sneakers/tennis shoes can be hazordous to your ankles and knees. Wear soft soled shoes if you have them or dance in your socks or barefooted. Dues are once again, um, due. (?) That cost is $15 for students and $20 for non-students and covers the entire 5 week session. No where else can you learn three dances for so little. If it is your first time with us, we still extend our risk free, free trial. Dance your first night with no obligation and decide later if you want to pay.

In other business, our officers meetings are now being held on Monday Nights at 7pm at our cubicle. That's on the Second floor of the Conoco Student Leadership wing of the Union, also known as UOSA territory. We're dealing with a bit of our budget stuff, homecoming parade planning and of course the imminent approach of the Winter Ball. I bring this up now because we're actually required by student law to announce these dealies.

We have upcoming dance opportunities at Kongos. Starting next week, the plan is to have an intermediate group lesson with Kate Linkous on Wednesday night and open dancing on Friday night until 9pm. There will be a cost for the lesson but there will be no cover for the Friday gig; you will be expected to buy your way in food and drinks (say a bottle of water apiece; think of it as friendly club). Once again that will be starting NEXT week, on Oct 12 (wed) and 14 (fri).

That's about it. Bring your friends, now's the best time to join in.
Stay safe,
Patrick Macklin
