Hello everybody,

We now return you to your regularly scheduled dance reminder email.

This week in dancing returns us to the Scholars room of the OU Union for Lesson 3 of Waltz, Nightclub TwoStep, and Salsa/Merrengue. Here's the spot while it's hot:

Who: Sooner Ballroom Dance Club and You!
What: Third Lesson of Waltz, Salsa/Merengue and Nightclub TwoStep
When: Tuesday Oct 18th 6:30 pm
Where: OU Student Union, Scholars Room, 3rd floor
Why: Meet new people, learn new things, have fun! Why else?

The Scholars room is between the Ballroom and the Parking Garage on the 3rd floor, north end. It is carpeted, so plan on having to kick off those sneakers. And if you haven't paid for your dance session yet, we would kindly ask that you do so this week.

This Friday we do have the East Atrium of Sarkey's reserved for dancing from 8-10pm. There is no cost and nothing to do but have fun, so come on out.

On Saturday, the 22nd (in addition to the Homecoming Parade; see previous email) is a fancy costume ball. This is the innagural event for the Black Tie Ballroom in OKC and many of our members are involved. Dancing will begin at 8pm and there will a demonstration of some very advanced and entertaining Tango. The cost is $10. Directions and carpooling info will follow later in the week.

On Wednesday this week the intermediate dance session at Kongo's will be restarted. If you missed the chance last week, don't worry as the lesson will begin anew this week. Copied from Kate's Last Email:

This is an advanced, in-depth class that will BUILD on what everyone is learning in the classes that you are already taking; I want to give you a chance to further develop the techniques that there just isn' t enough time for in the regular classes. When I was originally approached about this class, this is the kind of thing that I was told would be a useful addition to the regular classes, and I am hoping that it will fit the bill for all of you.

So, we will start the class next week on Wednesday, Oct 19th at 7 pm at Kongo's; it will go for five weeks and we will work on Waltz and Swing. The prices are now:

$45 for non-students
$35 for students if paid in full at beginning of class; $40 if paid during session

And again, there is no partner required.

I am hoping that we can make this class an ongoing thing, with new dances every session. Let me know if you have any questions; feel free to call Kate directly at (405) 664-6692.

The turnout for Kongo's was promising for a first event. Stay tuned for the details on the next Friday at Kongo's and let's get twice as many people.

That's all for now. I appologize for the high volume of mail and content in your mailboxes. This is always a busy time of year and there are a lot of extra projects going on this year. I'm glad you're with us and I hope you can join us for some dancing and merriment.

Sincerely,
Patrick Macklin
