Hola Gang,

Sorry for the mix up last week. We are in the Sarkeys East Atrium again this Tuesday for lesson 2 with beginner lessons starting at 6:30 and intermediate at 8:00. Tango, ChaCha and Hustle are the subjects for this session. Membership dues are, as always, $15 for students and $20 for nonstudents which pays for the entire session (5 lessons).

Tickets for the Spring Ball, the 2nd Annual Moonlit Masquerade to be held Wednesday April 20th at 7pm, go on sale this week. We will be selling them at the aforementioned lesson in addition to outside the Union Bookstore, 1st floor, this Thursday, Friday and the following Monday and Tuesday from 10am-2pm. Tickets cost $6/person $10/couple before hand and $8 apiece at the door. Members in good standing, those of you who've paid dues for at least 2 of 3 sessions this semester, have earned a free ticket.

A message from member Mary Frates about a dance opportunity for this Friday:
There will be an evening of ballroom dancing on Friday, April 15, at the Untitled ArtSpace, 1 NE 3rd, Oklahoma City, 7:00-10:00PM.

The evening will include:
An exhibition of ballroom dancing by professional and amateur dancers.
An introductory lesson for everyone
General dancing
Host will be John Swick, National Ballroom Champion, Coach, and Judge.
Singles and couples are welcome

Please RSVP by April 11 at 405.815.9995

For more information contact Horst Severini who will be dancing in the demonstration that evening.

Note that this event is completely free. The only catch is that reservations must be made by the close of business Monday. I am going to call and see if they'll let me reserve, say, 10 seats for club members. It won't hurt to call and make a reservation for yourself; don't count on there being space. At any rate, there will be carpooling. Meet at 6pm in the Union Foodcourt by the Jukebox on Friday if you would like to carpool or, like me, simply bum a ride (I have no car).

Apologies for the late notice on that one.

But now for the hard stuff. We need volunteers like mad to bring the Ball together. In the past, we've had many people chip in a bit and the whole process go very smoothly. Any help you can profer, even for just an hour, goes a long way to bringing this thing home. What we need volunteers for:

Selling Tickets. We have a booth set up for the Union on the days mentioned above. We need two people to attend to this booth outside the Union Bookstore, 1st floor, this Thursday, Friday and the following Monday and Tuesday from 10am-2pm. All the information to become a consumate salesperson will be provided (Prices, FAQs, minutia etc.). We will have sign up sheets for time slots at the class on Tuesday. Even an hour between classes is a big help with this. If you can't make it to class, email me when you can help.

Decorations. We will be meeting at Ryan Vazquez' house on Saturday at 1pm. Pizza and Cokes lunch will be provided.

Here are some directions: (actual map drawing provided at meeting)

From Campus-

Go East on Boyd until you reach 12th East (also called Sooner Road)
Turn Left onto 12th (go North)
Turn Right onto Northern Hills Rd. (there's a brick wall with Northern Hills
on it)
Go straight until you see house number:
2725 Northern Hills Road on the left

Notes: Northern Hills is soon after Rock Creek. Ryan's house is between a
black and white house and a house with a red garage door.

And if anyone gets lost, Ryan's cell is 405.323.8557. Or you can call me at 812.391.3225.

Spreading the word. In general, tell your friends, enemies, neighbors, professors, coworkers, spiritual guides, personal grooming consultants, strangers on the street and generally anyone else who might like to come. We'll have some handbills on Tuesday. Also, you may take some tickets and collect money if you would like to sell at the early price to your associates.

This Ball keeps getting bigger and bigger and everyone has been helping out more and more. Let's keep it up and make this year's Masquerade the biggest, bestest yet.

Thanks and have a great week!
-Patrick

P.S. Statistics show that dancing increases your chances of having a great week.
