We here in good 'ole Norman, OK have quite a treat in store for us next
weekend. Mr. "God Hates Fags" himself, Pastor Fred Phelps is coming to OU
next Saturday, Sept. 7, to protest President Boren and the University for
its policy on Hate Speech. The link to the Press Release is here:

If you check out the website, or are already familiar with him, I don't
think I need to explain the why this is worth your attention.

I've been trying to decide what to do about this since I found out about it
last Monday. Should there be a counter-demonstration? Or would a
counter-demonstration just give him more credibility and attention than he
deserves?

I would like to know your minds on this. I would like to invite anyone and
everyone, gay, straight, or otherwise to join us on Tuesday, Sept. 3, in the
Undercurrent Office at 8:00pm to discuss what, if anything, should be done.
The Undercurrent Office, Room #384, is located on the 3rd Floor of the
Conoco Student Leadership Wing, on the West side of the Student Union on the
OU campus. If you are unable to attend, just write me back and tell me what
you think should be done. Also, please state whether or not you will be
willing to participate if we do plan an action for next Saturday.
