Publicity Week:
+Sunday (tomorrow): Student leader's social, free food
and drinks--for student presidnets, leaders, committee
members, and advisors. 9pm-11pm at Brother's. Dress
code: club clothes.
+Monday: World Club Night, with special music and
performances including Conjunto Clave and a live DJ.
There will be dancing, music, food. 8-10:30 in the
Union Courtyard. Dress code: club clothes or cultural
garments.
+Tuesday: The importance of American Government and
Democracy--focuses on the political organizations of
OU. The featured speaker is Rick Tepkner,
Constitutional law professor. He'll talk about
importance of American government and importance of
citizen involvement, as well as stuff about the recent
terrorist acts. Free food and drinks. 7-9:30pm in
Nielson Hall A204. Dress code: business attire.
+Wednesday: Three things. 10-3pm on the south oval is
the Student Involvement Fair. Tables representing all
organizations will be there. There will be free food
and music by the Pride of Oklahoma Band, and an
appearance by the Ruf Neks. The second thing is 12-1
in the Sooner Room, a special session for FRESHMEN
called "How do I get involved at OU." Featured
speakers will be Clarke Stroud, C. Don Bradley,
Brandon Brooks, Andy Lehman, Kevin Estep. Food and
drinks provided. Third: 6-9pm on Walker-Adams Mall,
"Athletic Club Night" where all athletic groups can
come publicize their seasons. There will be a special
demonstration by the OU gymnastics team. There will be
an auction for a football signed by Bob Stoops, and
the money raised will go to the NYC relief fund. The
dress code for the day is OU sports clothes and
baseball cap.
+Thursday: Three things again: First, the Student
Involvement Fair which is the same as
Wednesday's--again, 10-3. Second, the Freshman Forum,
which is like the one the day before, will be in the
Associates Room (12-1). Third, 6-9pm in the
Walker-Adams Mall will be "Free Your Spirit." The
focus will be religious organizations at OU. There
will be free food and drinks, and the featured
performers will probably include: Praise & Worship by
Brian Bergman from Brideway Church, Voices of
Distinction choir, a demonstration of Yoga, Impact
Bible Study Dance Team, the Muslim Student
Association, Chi Alpha Band, and more. THe dress code
for the whole day is "wear your best seventies
clothes."
+Friday: "Rave Party": Featured performances: Alpha
Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc, Delta Sigma THeta Inc, and a
"Dance Marathon 2000 reprise" of the Omega Si Phi and
hte Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Also, the Pride of
Oklahoma, the Rufneks, the pom squad, and a cheer
team. Clarke Stroud will beh the MC, and Daylon Goff
will be the DJ. There will be free food and drinks.
Dresscode: wear your best club clothes.
