efforts by opponents to prevent this by way of seemingly
insincere allegations of sexual harrassment failed,
demonstrating the increasingly impotence of appeals to
bigotted stereotyping of queers as predatory

yes, Virginia, there ~are~ Christian faiths who align
with Christ

(on a sad note, there were a number of people who want the
majority of Episcopalians/Anglican Catholics to rise up
against this acceptance of an openly gay bishop, as though
Christ's openness could be vetoed by majority rule whenever
it refuses to rationalize irrational opposition to queers,
and some groups threatened to separate from the Anglican
Church, a very UN-Anglican threat to make -- just as their
opposition to Christian queers is UN-Christian)
