Lecturer in Spanish

Full-time position to begin September 1, 2009 (classes begin August 27, 2009). This is a one-year appointment (with full benefits after 90 days of employment), with possibility of renewal.

Qualifications
Minimum requirement: M.A. in Spanish, native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English. Teaching experience in Spanish, two years preferred.

Responsibilities
Teaching load: Four courses per semester at the undergraduate level. Participation in departmental activities and committees.

Setting
With 36 full-time faculty members, the department offers M.A. programs in French and Spanish, B.A. programs in French, German, and Spanish, and minors in Arabic, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, and Russian. We also offer beginning and intermediate courses in Hebrew, Latin, and Portuguese. UNT, a growing research institution with an enrollment of over 34,000 students, is located in Denton, a city of approximately 100,000 in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area of some 6 million people with close proximity to the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is a cosmopolitan, urban area with diverse cultural, ethnic, linguistic, artistic and scholarly communities.
