Is anyone else offended by this, or am I being
 oversensitive?

I have no difficulty with the Christian celebrations
taking place on campus this upcoming week -- this
is Holy Week leading into Easter, a major sacred
time for many Christian denominations, and I think
there's nothing wrong and perhaps something healthy
with Christians celebrating, just as there's nothing
wrong and something healthy with Muslims celebrating
or pagans celebrating or, to use a secular example,
with gay pride celebrations. My own denomination
celebrates Holy Week, and I find it a personally
 meaningful time.

However, I have just seen the agenda for the week,
and it includes a Thursday panel called "Losing My
Religion" -- which "celebrates" people who have
become Christian by abandoning another faith!

To celebrate one's faith seems a perfectly healthy
activity to me, but to celebrate one's faith at the
 expense of other faiths . . .

Is anyone else offended by this, or am I being
 oversensitive?

 yours,
 W. Everett Chesnut, Ph.D.
